The Players today
by Tom La Cascia, Rossmoor Players (updated 07/18/15)

The Rossmoor Players Club produces and performs plays in the community.  It holds monthly meetings that include entertaining lectures, discussions and skits.  Unless otherwise specified, club meetings take place the last Monday of the month at 7:00 PM in the Maple Room of the Rossmoor Clubhouse.  All Rossmoor residents, whether members or not, are invited to attend. The club also sponsors trips to local theaters which include The Villagers Theater in Somerset, The McCarter Theater in Princeton, and the George Street Theater in New Brunswick.

Rossmoor plays are produced for the Rossmoor Playhouse stage which is located in Rossmoor's Meeting House.  Most of the plays are written by playwrights within the Rossmoor community.

Typically, the Rossmoor Players mount three major productions a year; one play, 1 musical and a variety show.

Recently The Players have received an infusion of younger professional performers who add to the diversity of talent within the group. Many other members of the Rossmoor Players Club are simply theater lovers, while others may be actors, entertainers, directors, and writers. There are others who are primarily interested in backstage activity, including makeup, costumes, music, sound, lighting, set design, stage management and publicity.  Periodic club/cast parties are enjoyed by all!

All Rossmoor residents are encouraged to join the Rossmoor Players Club. Dues are a modest five dollars a year.  Additional details about upcoming plays, auditions, open positions and membership information may be obtained by contacting the club's president, Norman Perkus (609) 395-1552.
